Parkwood Baptist Church Ministries
The ministries of Parkwood Baptist Church aim to give everyone solid biblical direction for life. The Scriptures give us our direction, and it is the Word of God that brings the clarity and direction we need when we find ourselves at difficult crossroads. We hope you find a place to grow and to serve along this wonderful journey we walk by faith.

Adult Ministries

Many opportunities are offered for Bible study, fellowship, and service for adults. A full Bible study program is available on Sunday mornings at 9:00, 10:15, and 11:30, weekday Bible studies, choir programs, excercise ministry, small groups, Wednesday night supper fellowships, Christian recovery ministries, prayer opportunties, and many other things are offered in an attempt to “Build a community of fully devoted followers of Christ to reach our community with God’s love.” The ministries listed below will give you an introduction to the ministries available to adults.

Sunday Morning Bible Studies

Classes, discussion groups and small groups meet at the 9:00, 10:15 and 11:30 AM hours on Sunday. Parkwood hosts a Bible Study in Spanish 10:15AM.

Wednesday Night Bible Studies (English & Spanish)
The Law of God: The Loving Lawgiver. This summer we will do an exciting study of the law of God. Why do we need laws in the first place? Are the Ten Commandments still relevant today? The study will set the framework for understanding the purpose of the law, emphasize the law as both an expression of God's love the humanity and gift to enhance the believer's freedom and joy in the Lord Jesus. All who love the law of God will express their love for others (Rom 13:8-10; John 13:34-35).

Small Groups

Parkwood encourages Adult Small Groups as one way we “build a Biblical community of fully devoted followers of Christ.”

Men's Ministry
Mission Statement: Parkwood is committed to creating an environment where men can fellowship and worship together in the love of Christ and prepare themselves for service. We encourage and support one other to grow into the kind of leaders God expects each man to be. Our men’s ministry meets once every month (usually the last Saturday, from 7-9 am) to discuss, look at God’s Word and pray about issues concerning being godly men.

Women's Ministry
Mission Statement: This ministry is dedicated to bringing women together in Christ for fellowship, spiritual nurture, encouragement, and service. The women ministry aims to build intentional relationships, strengthen one another, and strive to reach out to family and friends with the message of God’s love. This ministry meets twice every month: first, on the second Saturday, from 9-11am, for breakfast, discussion, and prayer and secondly, on the third Friday, from 7-9 pm, for arts and crafts.

Prime Timers
The Parkwood PrimeTimers (senior citizens age 50+) meet monthly for Christian fellowship (potluck luncheons), various mission activities and lots of fun.
The PrimeTimers decide as a group how we can provide assistance to church activities, administer to the needs of the community or provide support/help to individuals in need . At the beginning of the calendar year, known activities are identified along with proposed mission opportunities. The list is periodically updated/revised by the group as new needs become necessary. How can you get involved? No sign up or registration required. Join us at our next meeting, usually on the 3rd Monday of the month at 11:30 a.m., in the Fellowship Hall. We would love to have you join us. For further information, please contact Virginia Sandidge.

ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language)
If you feel that the Lord is calling you to serve him in this new ministry, as a Teacher or Helper, we invite you to sign up for our Training Session when you are here at Parkwood!

Additional ESL Training sessions are offered regularly, please check the Community Ministry tab of our website for specific information. Registration forms for these classes is available thru the Northstar Church Network. For futher information, please contact Hector Velasquez.

Young Adult Ministries
Young Adults at Parkwood: ACTS
ACTS is a Young Adults group that seeks to live out an Acts 2:42 devotion to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer.
Youth Ministries

We believe that God desires to use everyone for the glory of His kingdom. No matter how old or young, God invites us to be a part of what He is doing.

Therefore our Youth Ministry is dual sided in purpose. On one side of the coin, we are committed to ministering to students, teaching them the good news of Jesus Christ, and seeking to help them grow in personal relationships with our Lord and Savior. On the flip side we equip and encourage our youth to serve and minister to our congregation and community at large. If they are in Christ, they are not a part of the church tomorrow, but part of the church today.

Everything we do, whether bible study or games, is devoted to this one thought: Seeking to minister to our Youth and through our Youth to the World.

Sunday School meets at 10:15 Sunday mornings.

Our Youth have established their presence on Facebook, in a closed group (for your security). Please join them and get involved in all that they are doing!

M Group is divided into three classes; Pre-K – Kindergarten, 1st–3rd, and 4th-6th. The three classes will be using the Teamkid curriculum which is a discipleship study that encourages kids to step out and do what is right all parts of their lives. They will study the great stories and people in the Bible in chronological order to learn about issues ranging from the courage to make the right choices, to the courage to admit when they are wrong, to the courage to follow God’s leadership.
Teamkids’ club verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 ~ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
